The recently announced <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/Food\/GuidanceRegulation\/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation\/LabelingNutrition\/ucm385663.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update of the Nutrition Facts Panel from the FDA<\/a><\/strong> means that food labels will be required to report grams of added sugars in foods in the future. Even though 75% of packaged foods purchased in the United States <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3490437\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contain added sweeteners<\/a><\/strong>, in today&#8217;s food supply, it can sometimes be hard to tell whether foods contain added sugars or low-calorie sweeteners.
