The study, titled<strong> \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2212267217300722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No Fat, No Sugar, No Salt\u2026.No Problem?\u00a0Prevalence of \u2018Low-Content\u2019 Nutrient Claims and their Associations with the Nutritional Profile of Food and Beverage Purchases in the United States Low-Content\u2019 Nutrition Claims on Packaged Goods Misleading for Consumers<\/a>,<\/strong>\u201d published online March 15 and will appear in the upcoming issue of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"UNC Study: \u201cNo Fat,\u201d \u201cNo Sugar,\u201d no guarantee of nutritional quality\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/J5_GbSTWhFY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lindsey Smith Taillie and her fellow researchers undertook the study to better understand how low-content nutrient claims featured on food and beverage packages relate to purchasing habits, as well as what association these claims have to products\u2019 actual nutritional content.
